Seems pointless anyway. There is no common landing zone considering the red lines of each side. Politically it might be easier for Johnson to go for no deal and then just blame the EU for all the inevitable deal happening early next year. I guess both sides have to keep up appearances.

Negotiations are stopped after one of Barnier's negotiators test positive for covid. They should have stayed off this British island of ours!
It does feel unfortunate that these negotiations need to be conducted between people based in the UK and Belgium  :weep:

Not the first time - I think Barnier and Frost were both isolating in late March just before Hancock and Johnson started isolating due to their infections. So I suppose we'll at least get a test on the effectiveness of antibodies.

We should have appointed negotiators from *checks notes* Finland and the Orkneys.

It is so messed up when a paper so loudly for "social justice" regularly publishes articles dreading the slowdown of property price rises.

Well that is from one of their financial reporters. And it isn't like they are saying this is the guardians opinion

It does not fit well with the rest of their front page stuff, regardless, and they regularly feature such articles. You can often see "DESTITUTION AND HOPELESSNESS" right above "YAY PROPERTY PRICES KEEP RISING".

Also, what's possibly worse, is that they regularly use estate agencies as sources for property-market articles which makes for nauseating reading.

So Canada and the UK announce an interim trade deal.

I'm sure that'll be a relief to all our UK-based posters.

I've noticed since PM Cummings resigned members of government are allowed back on ITV's morning program. Kind of an embarrassing admission that a self-important twat with no official power kept them off this long, isn't it.

Were you clamoring to see Matt Hancock?

It's funny how obvious this return makes that how absolutely no value was lost by not seeing them "respond" to questions.

Since I usually just diss the UK in this thread, perhaps this is the best place to mention that the data available re. the pandemic from various sources like the daily map updates and the rest are absolutely excellent when compared to what you can get from official sources in Hungary.

The best comparison I have seen is a set of basic data assembled into graphs by a (liberal) online news site, with them working hard to gather it piecemeal from various sources, because transparency is quite clearly a word that's shunned in official Hungarian circles.
