I thought of that the other day. Whenever Trump leaves office, he will just retire to Florida and continue his life as if nothing happened.

Well he will continue tweeting...
Quote"This is a Russian warship. I propose you lay down arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed & unnecessary victims. Otherwise, you'll be bombed."

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

The House of Lords passed the most recent act that creates an obligation for the government to ask the EU for an extension if there is no deal. It now only requires royal assent and is then law.

Johnson already stated that he does not want to ask for an extension no matter what. So I guess that leaves resignation, a vote of non-confidence into his own government, or the opposition agreeing on new elections under the FTPA now.

Or he might have to go against his word. Unthinkable.  :bowler:

Their behaviour is fundamentally different to the likes of Brown or Thatcher; serious politicians I often disagreed with but never doubted their integrity or the sincerity of their intentions.
That's how I see Merkel.

Good. Kick Brexit into the long grass. Stuff it into the committee equivalent to the warehouse at the end of the first Indiana Jones movie and go on a holiday.

How long an extension?

Three months, I read? In which I presume nothing will change so we'll get the same shitshow by Christmas. Although my guess is we'll get an election in between which could put the no-dealers firmly in the driving seat (I fear).

Parliament doesn't seem able to make up its mind. They voted against the deal but now they don't want no deal? Is anyone in Parliament an adult?

Whatever happens with Brexit the UK's reputation is destroyed for at least a generation.

Can Germany still execute traitors?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Seriously, the UK needs to at the very least lose its special privileges if it still stays in the EU.

Guardian...

QuoteThe former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith encouraged Johnson to break the law, saying he would be seen as a Brexit "martyr" if judges opted to put him jail for breaching parliament's terms.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
