It is as if we get our papers delivered from a parallel dimension or alternative reality. Are these really the sorts of thoughts seething under the calm exteriors of our compatriots?

I must be getting old. It's not that I disagree with a significant number of people but I can't even really comprehend how they think as they do. C.f. Trump.

What I am afraid is being unravelled world-wide (well, more like in the first world, as it was never under wraps elsewhere, really), is that the old accusation of the radical right toward the liberals was actually true: modern liberal values have not taken root anywhere other than the limited circles of the intelligentsia. And since they had a strong grip on public discourse, it became the accepted standard but it has never achieved more than silence other, less tolerant and democratic views.

Now with the economic troubles undermining the fate in this "ruling class", and with modern technology making it easier to avoid the confines of the communication channels dominated by them, those who never let go of the views which culminated in two world wars can feel more free to be themselves.

Ok, I have just sampled those headlines over at the BBC:

Even the Telegraph wants the judges lynched it would seem. Just in an implied, conservative way, I guess.

WTF, people, this is not cool. I thought I fled this kind of mob rule shit.

The press speaker of the Munich police was lauded for his level headed information and tweets during the recent mall shooting that was credited with preventing a widespread hysteria or panic.

He recently commented that most people using social media today aren't reeady or fit to do so, because they will help spread false or dubious information without fact checking, causing uncertainty, fear, and confusion.

A Tory MP has resigned his seat over the Government's response to the High Court judgement. Reduces Govt majority to 8. Commentators think this makes it likely there will be a general election.

I so hope the LibDems will have the guts to say they will absolutely positively not do Brexit if they get on government. What do they have to lose?

And Jeremy Stalyn will not make such a declaration because secretly he can't wait for the British economy to tank so he can build his communist utopia.

I saw clegg on tv this morning and seems no. He said he would vote for article 50 on a soft brexit :(

The fact that the British press is questioning whether Parliament has any power at all just shows why direct democracy is a sham and should never be tried. The British government now lacks legitimacy to carry out policies. I don't see how a government can function like this.

Clegg is not exactly a bold leader and political genius. The results of his leadership speak for themselves.

The Brexit referendum was such a bold and genius move. The results speak for themselves.  :P

Actually, apparently defending the EU is bold.

At least the Sun has the really important news and informs us on its title page that Prince Harry's girlfriend can be found on Pornhub.

Excellent and glad you enjoyed Bermondsey. Brew by Numbers is one of my favourite local breweries too.

As an added bonus, I managed to get two of the BbN glasses back with me intact
