How many times has the Trump administration stopped doing something and changed its ways because the court told them to do so?

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

The Minsky Moment

I think Cher Amiral is still imagining there is a functioning administrative system out there, that while perhaps led by donkeys at the very top of the pyramid, is still staffed on the line by reasonably honest folks. But in a matter of months, we have left long behind the nice clean looking system that might be taught at KSG.

At the close of the Biden admin, the US Attorney's Office for District of Minnesota was a busy and somewhat overworked office of 70 attorneys.  Since then their workload has massively expanded courtesy of Noem & Co. But the staffing has collapsed to 17, thanks to the Musk Ministry, political motivated cannings, and mass resignations in protest of demands to bring improper charges.  So as the document linked in the ICE thread shows, the Courts are effectively powerless: they can issue whatever orders and threats they wish, but there is no one minding the federal store that cares to listen.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

I disagree with your premise.
I will quote you Minsky:

You have no case to rest. You asked me a question.  I answered.

Mono was autistic and thus resisted change and hated disruptions to his routine. Yi still has faith in the American judicial system and the checks and balances. I think its extremely naive, verging on fatelism, but its nothing like mono. Only similarity is that they're both Asian :P

Mono defended an increasingly repressive regime in Hong Kong.  There is no real difference between Yi and Mono in that regard.

Quote from: Valmy on February 03, 2026, 01:10:49 PMAnd how they ship people they arrest down to Texas for processing, determine they did nothing wrong, and release them in Texas with no way to get back home. I was always nervous about how the police had the theoretical power to lock you up for 24 hours for no reason, but this takes it to a whole new level.

If I get Yi's "logic" on this, if that's legal you should ignore it. And if it's not legal you should also ignore it because the courts will conjure their magic to make it stop.
