But if it was yours to be renamed and the US president did rename those other things, there is no equivalency in the reason for it being done. In fact, the motivation is pretty much diametrically opposed.

We had a very racist syrup called Aunt Jemima's. It's branding had a racist caricature of a black woman on it. Think Mammy from Gone with the Wind.

I am not sure what exactly happened, but I think that company finally decided that was bad and stopped doing it.

This made the racists in the country very angry and they blamed Democrats, even though the government had nothing to do with it.

As somebody who never used racist syrups I am not sure when exactly this happened.

Pearl Milling Company is the new name. I legit didn't realize that for quite a while after the rebranding. I use their products (amongst others) as I love maple things and pancakes.
