Same as post WWII phenomenon, IIRC.

There was a pause from the mid 1930s through the early 1950s IIRC due to fuel emissions that rejected pollutant in the atmosphere, then it started climbing back.

Germany has achieved about 65% renewable electricity generation in the first half of 2024. That is up from 50% in 2023.

Solar capacity is added above plan. Wind is a bit behind, but still several GW added. Also big projects for batteries and other storage methods going live to stabilize the net.

Coal is down to 20% when it was about 50% a decade ago. The official target for phasing out coal is 2038, but it will be priced out of the market before that.

Solar is really booming now. Along with batteries. Politically this is very nice for Texas because people seem to panic a bit less from solar farms than wind farms. Wind farms kill birds and give babies cancer and probably raise demons from the other side of the veil.
