I'm sure at this point Monkeybutt could have conquered the entire Iberian peninsula.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Aww...Shirley Manson came out as an unexpected encore singer and performed with No Doubt.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Very nice video tribute to the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald:

Always loved that song.

That was very well done.

I was just telling Sav that I wanted to go to the Mariner's Church in Detroit on November 10 this year when they have a special service for the crew of Big Fitz.  I want to hear the churchbell chime 29 times.

Did you know that if you drown in Lake Superior, your body will not ever float to the surface?  The lake is too deep and cold.  Hence the phrase: Lake Superior they said never gives up her dead...

Quick Tommy story.  He turned a year & a half (or 18 months if you must) a week or so ago & has been fascinated with animals & animal sounds for several weeks now.  He's doing a good job recognizing abstract representations of animals, and is starting to display that he has an imagination.

Well, I had him with me in the checkout line at Target last week & we were behind this woman with a little girl about his age.  The girl was a bit on the chubby side & was wearing this pink sweatsuit-type outfit.  Tommy pointed at her & started making a noise, which I didn't recognize at first so I sort of disregarded it-- until I realized he was saying "OINK, OINK, OINK, OINK"

I guess he calls 'em as he sees 'em.

Interesting stuff. I didn't realize that line was literally true.

I can report that three - and - a - half year olds still know nothing of the social value of not blurting out what they happen to be thinking.

As I noted elsewhere, Carl's (loud) observation in the (Italian) ladies' change room at the Columbus Centre: "Mommy, why does that lady have a moustache? Only men are supposed to have moustaches ... "
