You know judging by the comments here and in the weather thread, this continental stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be.  :bowler:

I think having about a hundred miles between you and the coast is a good medium. The water still has some moderating effect on temperatures, but it's not humid or rainy all the time.

One other thing to note in the Great Big Mac Controversy is that many (most?) states have a minimum wage higher than the national minimum wage.

In addition, Australia has an age-graduated minimum wage while the US has a universal minimum wage.  Personally, I think we need to make our minimum wage age-graduated as well.  I think it is equally ridiculous to allow a business to only pay an adult $7.25/hour and to make them pay a high school student $10.50/hour.

Might make employers prefer to hire young workers.

No doubt; I'm not sure if much if any of England is 100 miles from the sea, being such a 'thin' country.

edit:
I looked it up, according to the Ordnance Survey, the place furthest from the sea in the whole UK, is a farm in Derbyshire, it's a massive 70 miles from the coast.

Twitter just suggested three people that I might know whom I should add on twitter: A friend from high school, the Tenement Museum and Drake :D

Twitter suggested I look at Mike Golic's butt.

I haven't listened to Mike and Mike for ages;  Does Greenie still play Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" when discussing Mark Sanchez, even now that he's out of Gotham?

No.  He's just a sad, depressed Jets fan.

Does anyone know what the civilian military combine is? I am apparently now on their email list.

This keeps happening. :( Here's the latest:

QuoteSpots are going fast for America's Race at America's Game and we want to see YOU brave the elements at CMC's FIRST-EVER Winter Assault!

Demonstrate your Patriotism through Athleticism in Baltimore on December 13th, blocks away from the 2014 Army-Navy Game.  Sign up to conquer THREE badass CMC PIT challenges in a row to really test your limits.  We will have you running, carrying, pushing and clawing your way through Baltimore Harbor's Power Plant Live!  In this event, there is a two person team maximum.  If you're competing as an individual, we'll pair you with another Combiner.
