Dude!  I totally want a head-hunter who writes like Keanu Reeves talks.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Worst phrase I've read in a book* in a long time:

"At some point, everybody behaves badly: it wasn't just the Nazis who forgot about ethics." :bleeding:

*  Braungart & McDonough. Cradle to Cradle

Any context?

I said last night, on the subject of parallel parking, it was like Hitler won the war.  To give credit where it's due, it's a paraphrase of HST.

Awesome if true.

But too good to be true, it a way it would be a nice parable to in part explain the 2008 and its aftermath, sort of.

It was in the above book, which is about making manufacturing more sustainable and less resource intensive. I think the phrase was in a sentence about how, all of us enjoy multiple foreign holidays and use lots of energy.

Also went to an odd carers fair today; a airman (army pilot) tried to persuade me to get into training Army cadet forces.

Glad he was running things at the Fed.  They must not have over paid him enough.

Yeah already being discussed and I don't see what is laudable here.

I'll take that as a compliment, though actually he said I reminded him of some of the officers he'd had, which given we were talking about ineffectual officers in the British army, was amusing.  :bowler:
