A new species of velvet worm discovered in the last few years has been named Eoperipatus totoro in honour of Miyazaki's "My neighbour Totoro".  :)

All this angst over carbon emissions in the UK (specifically the LibDem opposition on Gatwick expansion because of it), is kind of funny when we have roughly 2 billion people heavily industrialising and raising consumption without giving a rats ass about the environment.

So thanks for making airplane travellers using an extremely busy airport with planes taking off and landing stuck to each other backs, I am sure it is making a real global difference in CO2 emissions.
