What do I want for lunch? Choices are:

* Chicken Pad Thai
* Grilled Turkey & Bacon with avocado and tomato on olive bread
* Burger and fries
* Lox & cream cheese on a sesame bagel
* Something else that I'm not thinking of

Where are these options from?  Context is important.

Siam Thai Restaurant
Co-Op Grocery Store Deli (all organic!)
Nearby restaurant - not fast food
Einstein Bagels

In case you haven't gone yet, I vote chicken pad thai.  Grocery store sandwiches suck, organic or not, and burgers should just be a special treat kind of lunch.

Your grocery store sucks then. I've had some real good prepared food and sandwiches from a grocery store, specially come commisaries on military bases.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

The sandwiches at this "grocery store" are actually pretty amazing. I eat them regularly; this particular sandwich, in fact. And I don't eat many burgers, in general. (Plus, this one is more a meat patty with mustard and veggies, since I don't get a bun with it.)

Mine was startlingly accurate, too.  Waterbury, Conn. and Yonkers, N.Y. were my top two, and I've got connections to both places from my formative years.  I guess I'm just surprised it's subtle enough to distinguish those particular swaths of territory from the general mass of New York-influenced speech (North Jersey, Long Island, etc.) on the one hand and the rest of southern New England (eastern Conn., Tim Ortiz country, etc.) on the other.

I think I've been spending too much time in New Orleans.

To explain, this isn't just any grocery store. This is a community food co-operative grocery store, with a full organic deli, coffee shop, salad bar, and bakery. The food is wonderful, and well worth the money paid.

You rock.  I hate it when restaurants dont offer malt vinegar with their fries (chips).  Makes me think they dont know how to properly make them.
