I'm slowly discovering that at 47 i can no longer drink like I used to.

Had a bit of a mini-reunion with old uni classmates last night.

Limited myself to four pints over four hours.

This morning I feel like I had 20. :(

Malthus ain't gonna be happy, I turn on bbc world news and they're interviewing his auntie, the first complete sentence I hear her say, presumably in reply to a question about inspiration/information sources is:

"My brother is a biologist, he sometimes tells me things, he thinks I might find interesting."
"We have it in our power to begin the world over again"

  Welp.  That was stupid.  Opening up a 12 pack, I split the little "lip" that holds the cans in when one is taken out while I was tearing open the dispenser end.  Pulled that fuckin thing off, grabbed the first one, and blam, 11 cans just rolled straight out onto the garage floor, including one that made it out onto the driveway and cruised off into the street.  So, I have 11 sodas now.

I hate it when the 24 pack falls apart when carrying it. Like a B-52 bomb run hitting a NVA formation.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
