But it does underline the point: even "good" lawyer jobs are terrible.

Depends on your personality.

I have occasionally been tempted by Wall Street, where I probably have a reasonable shot of getting a job that pays two to three times what I make now.  I know I would be absolutely miserable, though, as would my wife.  So much so that it would not even be worth a two to three year stint just to bank some scratch for the future.

Wise words. 

Especially as your get older, it dawns on one that these immediately close years will be of great utility that one x years down the line.
