YOu have to feel for the execs at places like A&E, History, and the like.

I imagine they want to run more programming true to their original purpose, but the reality crap is so cheap to produce, and does so well in the ratings...
Problem is, the history part of The History Channel ain't so hot either.  Abe Simpson is a more reliable historian than they are.

Yeah, even in it's prime it tended toward sensationalist, antiquated or fringe theories.  I was sitting there with my dad and he was watching one of the shows about the Plague and they had a guy go on about how "Ring around the Rosy" was inspired by the plague.  :bleeding:  Why won't that fucking myth just die?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It's not really a myth, just a disputed theory.

It's a theory disputed by facts, how about that?

I don't know I mean it doesn't appear that the theory actually has facts to support it but is rather just a made-up tale.

CNN itself is going to change in a month or so.

How so?

Overrated hacks bourdain and spurlock join the channel. Less news, more shows.

So more like Fox News?

I bet even worse. All three news channels suck.

Alas, they are just a reflection of their audience.

CNN's been going downhill for years. It was a one-off spurred by the first Gulf War. We need more wars*, dammnit.
