I like a bit of rain.  It doesn not affect one if one does not go outside.

It's not acidic, you know.
"We have it in our power to begin the world over again"

jimmy olsen

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Usually not too hot,
You must be on fucking crack

I think you are.  Do you not know what "usually" means, or are you playing dumb for a reason?  South Carolina is perfectly habitable 9-10 months out of the year.  That is "usually."
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Oh.  I actually forgot about the storm.  It's been fine here. :Embarrass:

You know, I've always thought it was kind of sad that South Carolina is probably, ecologically speaking, one of the places on Earth most suitable for human habitation.  Usually not too hot, usually not too cold, no earthquakes, no vulcanism, no wildfires, and only the occasional hurricane, and that only affects Charleston and Myrtle; and on the other hand, it's a hydrological wonderland, with no droughts and plenty of lakes and stuff for electrical generation and also cooling uranium fuel rods.

I guess if you make it easy for people to live, this is the people you get.

It's pretty nice in Southern California too.

Versailles the French way = WRONG

I voted!  They moved my polling place, it's now in a Lutheran Church.  I suppose a Catholic Cathedral six blocks from my house isn't good enough anymore.  Also there was a line.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
