Giving the Confederacy any Union states at all is implausible.  They'd have to fight to get them, any any war with the Union results in the Confederacy being destroyed and reabsorbed.  That also makes expansionism in the South difficult, as the Union is liable to be interventionist in the event that the South starts invading Latin America to spread slavery.

My dog had a fight today.
Walking past a house and a little shitzuy thing comes running out barking at her, it decides to jump on her and she of course fights back. They're rolling around on the ground together whilst I try and get them apart and my dog grabs the other one by the neck and won't let go. Me and the other dogs owner struggle and eventually seperate them. The attacker retreats into the house. When my dog gets home she looks very proud of herself.
