I ate at the last standing Horn and Hardart automat in New York before it closed in 1991.  I still have the mug, but all the automats are long gone.   :weep:

I ate at an automat in NYC in 1989.  Couldn't figure out what the big deal was at the time, particularly since the coin vending thingies were all shut down & we had to order from the counter.

Last thing I need is for him to get all rebellious on me when he gets older & choose politics as the way to "express himself".

Just gonna try to raise him with the right general values & hope he has enough common sense to make the right decision.

My parents were rather apolitical and as I've grown older, our politics have converged.

Today I am at the highest possible level of pissedoffedness. I'm not going to be getting a study loan- the government just plain didn't reply to the bank when they asked if all was Ok even after they were prodded about it twice, not even to say no. And it should have been the government in the first place to tell the bank everything was fine at the beginning of thie month.
Looks like I have to move back home in January, luckily I'm onto my thesis now so I will mostly be working alone anyway. It would have been good to do something with a company though :(

Was that Ed DeBevic's (or however it's spelled)? Interesting experience.
