On the other hand the thought of eating the same thing forever saddens me.
There's always different stuff to try.

When I feel "adventurous" I ask for a bite of someone else's plate (they know I'm really weird so they are happy to see me try something new).

In some restaurants it's also common to share smaller portions for a while before the main course.
My hungriest mates know it's good to sit besides me, since they'll get to eat most of my stuff.
I'll nibble on some stuff here and there knowing that I'll get my nice, safe meal in the end (usually meat).


One of the few upsides of Crohn's is it gave me a very good, socially acceptable excuse to be a picky eater.

But there's still some stress eating out. Most staff will take it personally if I don't finish a plate.
The real reason is I got used to eat very slowly and very low amounts of food at a time during the ~2 years I could barely eat anything without ending in the ER.

 For me it's kind of the opposite and it's relationships that forced me to learn cooking. When it's just for me it only has to be vaguely edible. When it's for a girl, and especially for a kid.... It's harder.

After a fall and saying it looks worse than it is, Olaf Scholz has posted an update. While I hope he gets well soon - I also hope he considers transitioning to pirate life because I think this looks pretty cool for a world leader

More seriously, that's not a good sign for his long term health, as falls, where the person appears to not have adequately deployed their hands are a sign of more rapid aging/decline.

It wouldn't matter so much if it were a car/bike/sporting etc type of accident.
