I saw the strangest disability on the bus today.
There was this woman, she looked perfectly normal in most respects; except her forearms were only about a inch long. She had perfectly normal hands attached to the end of them though, not weird cripply graspers.

I think thalidomide can cause that, although IIRC it does have a tendency to also cause flippers rather than normal hands at the end.

It's not banned, it just has very strict prescription rules, atleast in the US.

My thoughts too. Odd that it would be so selective and just effect the forearms with the hands being normal.
