The day I truly felt "fuck you're old" was when I saw a post on Facebook from an old work colleague saying that her daughter was getting married. She was pregnant with her when we worked together...

Quote from: Josquius on August 27, 2022, 03:18:10 AMYou're old when people who can drink weren't even born when you were drinking.

42? 36? 32? That's the prime of life.

... and that's assuming you didn't start drinking before it was legal.

I started feeling old 18 years after turning 18.

That's a good point, CC. I agree, thinking under 40 year olds are young is a sign of being old.

Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".

Another amazing BBC archive piece - what Australians expect to find in Britain:

Having spoken about the mid-Atlantic accent, the accents here are really strikingly not very Australian. Also I absolutely love the second woman and hope she had a great time with suave continental men.

I particularly liked the fellow going to London to see the last bastion of a caste system in the world.

Whicker's world was a really good show. He was one of those people who was capable of putting people at their ease so that they said what they thought

Saw this the other day and had the same thought.
Maybe it's because the sort of Australian who could afford this is likely from their upper class and would have been actively trying to be British?
