Electric is so slow. I miss turning on the heating and getting immediate warmth / don't like all the wrangling you have to do on a stove to be able to switch from boilding to a simmer (as you can't really do that in an instant like you can with gas).

Once again, induction is your friend here.

Great but that's not what is common here.

Indeed, I was only able to get a limited portable induction hob to try it out and then a minor issue with the mains voltage quality fried the bloody thing.  :(

I hate induction/regular ceramic plate hobs. They scratch so easy.
I've found a lot of people like electric ovens and gas hobs.
Electric heating is it's weak spot. It's so damn expensive.

Just heard a news anchor ask this question of a guest being interviewed about the Saudi/GCC-Qatari deal:

"How is this going to impact regional dynamics as we move forward?"

Electric heating should be coupled with actual insulation I wonder if that's part of new-build requirements.

Otherwise I have also heard from several people that optimal combination is gas hobs with electric oven.

Yeah - I don't trust new builds in general

Insulation is NOT the reason to go with old buildings though.  :D

Sounds like a reasonable question. How would you have worded it?

I wish I could have gas hobs. The pipeline is ~100 meters away from my house & I can't get service :(

Our new build is boiling. Yesterday was first day that we put heat on.

We're supposed to be on a trend of not burning dinosaurs to power our things.

Unless you're generating power from hydro, wind or solar, natural gas is the cleaning power source going... :goodboy:
