I wish The economist was a little cheaper. 260/year is hard to swallow.

You can't put a price on being able to say "I read it in The Economist the other day".

3-year subs are the way to go and you can usually get the first 3 months for free or very little; halves the cost.

I grow sick of my computer being so noisy on startup.
So I for the first time in 6 or 7 years of owning this case pulled off the front panel to clean the accumulated dust.
It was horrific. It was several cm deep. The stuff went everywhere.
.... And my computer remains just as noisy on startup.

I also have to figure out about stopping it restarting itself from sleep. Finally.

My experience is that I need to replace the cooling system to reduce noise.

Excessive dust makes the cooling system have to work harder.

Excessive dust can damage the bearings on the fans, making them noisy and less efficient.
