That was fun and yeah 2016 can't be over soon enough.
Definitely one of those years that will stand out in history, like 1848, should there still be history in the future.

Funnily, 2016 has been one of the best years of my life.

Considering the Law and Jusrice Party won in 2015, yeah, I could see how any other year could be an improvement.

I expect Poland should have a banner crop of potatoes and jailed faggots in 2017's harvest, though.

It's been a mixed bag for me but on balance-- I'll take it.

I actually just meant for me personally, because of the changes that happened in my life - and the ones I caused to happen. One of which being making a conscious effort not to let politics at large affect my personal sense of happiness. :P

Oh, don't worry, it's on its way.

I think we'll all be okay.

These things have a way of working themselves out; and even if they don't, well, it's what the fellow says...
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

2016 isn't 1848. It's more like 1844.

House of Orange?  I get it.

And it works on another level too.

Or is Garbon suggesting something bleaker still?
