Venezuela has a cabinet level minister for Ecosocialism.

This minister has overachieved a bit at achieving a zero growth economy.

The Minsky Moment

RIP to Bobby Hutcherson.  Best vibes player, other than maybe Milt Jackson.  He used to do these incredible live duo performances with McCoy Tyner - who thankfully is still alive and active.

Sad to see this generation go - Ornette Coleman and Horace Silver also died recently.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

My sympathy for Greece - often expressed on this board - has taken a big hit due to the government's decision to charge the head of the economic statistics agency for the "crime" of reporting accurate numbers. At a certain point, people just can't be saved from themselves.

Sounds like you had a Minsky Moment.   ;)

I'm doing a job at a children's hospital, and just saw a very cute, tiny (maybe 1 year old) little girl learning to drive a motorized wheelchair.  It was both one of the most adorable and heartbreaking things I have ever seen.  :(

The most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen was that movie from Japan about the Akita dog who met his master every day at the train station.

He was an a great guy, I remember being a teenager and going to NYC to see him.
He was the uncle to my cousins who i grew up with under the same roof.
He teased me years ago when told him I wanted to play Football at University of Hawaii.

I refuse to watch it. The futurama episode was too much
