A Man Utd player refused to wear a rainbow pro-LBTQ jacket on account of his Muslim faith so the rest of the team didn't wear it either. And even the LBTQ supporter groups are like "we understand his decision but are disappointed"

This is such BS. If a player cited his Christian fate or just secular convictions in not showing solidarity, there would be a massive outrage by these same groups. But because it's due to a minority religion'd backwards and discriminating views everyone is "well alright"

I'd say it depends where they're from more than their religion.
If they're British and decree because they're Muslim or Christian they're allowed to hate gay people - no. Fuck that bigot.
If they're from the middle east though, again whether Christian or Muslim, I can respect the not wanting to be killed thing.

Shitty of the rest of the team though. That never happened with James mcclean and poppies.

I agree. Although corporate rainbow washing (or pink washing, or any other corporate  appeals) are kind of dumb in their own right.

Yeah my tolerance is 0 but then I don't care all that much about whether men kicking/throwing balls are wearing rainbows.

LGBTQ+ community was not at all supportive - yet still the NHL stopped players from wearing non-standard jerseys even during warm-ups.

I thought that was very cowardly of the NHL.  If one player doesn't want to wear a Pride jersey (or whatever else) then so be it - and let them take the negative media attention.
