The Minsky Moment

I sense some kind of cyclical force at work here. :hmm:

It's incarcerated separatists all the way down.

I just think that last October's UDI if anything proved that those threats are empty.

There's a belief - often repeated - among radical separatists that by causing as much instability as possible ultimately the EU (or the UN, even though nobody gives a damn about the UN anymore) will force a referendum on Spain. Which seems a dumb train of thought to me.

Right now the Socialist government is offering talks for further devolution. The smart move here if you're a separatist is getting more power and trying in a few years with a better hand, and more internal support, but instead they are going for "chaos is a ladder" asshatery.

Teh Russians.

You think so? I am sure they are not opposed to creating whatever trouble they can in the EU.

Mueller subpoenaed the lobbying firm that the Catalan government hired to represent them in the US.

They were involved with Flynn and some Rusian banks IIRC (the firm)

"chaos is a ladder"

They are aware what ends up happening to Littlefinger in the show right?

God, I'm tired.

Yes...but will the separatists ever tire of it?

It took 20, maybe even 40, years, but Quebec separatists seem to have finally tired of it. :)
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

They did not tire of it, they died & were not really replace. Canadian federal government was nice to us instead of what Spain is doing.

Please define what you mean by "being nice".

For most of the time when Quebec Independence was a possibility, the Federal PM was from Quebec both from birth & his riding.
The Federal government did not jail our Separatist leaders on BS accusation. Only bomb happy murderers were jailed.
While they ultimately failed, 2 constitutional modification/negotiation conference happened where the Federal government (& some provinces) made concession towards Quebec's autonomous demands.
Some usual & common federal provided services were transferred to the provincial government in exchange for money (ie: Handling of Income Taxes).

Catalonia already has a massive level of devolved competences.

So do Canadian provinces, Quebec has more of them. Does Madrid give Cataloania more responsibilities than other regions of Spain & money for it?

I believe only the Basque country & Navarra have more (basically their own tax collection agencies, for historical reasons). The current government offered to discuss even further devolution but the Catalan government doesn't even want to consider it.

Maybe Madrid should start being the bigger person in this child on child fight.

What does that even mean?
