And what's the proper pronunciation of that, bb?

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I fear my computer is on the way out.
For a long while now there has been a grinding which steadily winds down as I turn it on, I always thought this was just a fan but....seems not.
I often have to reset it two or three times in start up before it manages to start. Today its initial start up beep was beeping like crazy.
Oh well. It just has to hang on another 2 weeks.

Speaking of place names, I learned the proper pronounciation of Milwaukee this morning.   It's "Mwakee."  :secret:

You see, there's a fan in the computer for a reason.  When the fan stops functioning other things will stop working soon after.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The fan works fine, it just takes a while to get going.
If what you say was the case the computer would be breaking after its been on all day, not when its turned on first thin in the morning.

My parents did the same thing.  It took several months before something overheated enough to burn out.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
