To be clear, that's not meant as transphobic, though maybe it comes off that way.  If the goal is some kind of orifice, alternative to the anus and mouth, into which a penis may be inserted, well, apparently it works, sort of, but it resembles a vagina only in the most rudimentary and vague way.

Presumably this will change in the bold and mighty science-fiction future, and the pre-op t-girl will vanish.  And that is kind of a shame.

My boys have only ever shown mild to moderate interest in trains.  I had some of the same thoughts as you, but so far it is not to be.

Instead they're both wild about dinosaurs.

My best friend gently introduced his son to trains and it took off like wildfire.  To the point where it starts to get annoying.  Almost comes across as a train-related autism.  Trains are big in that family going back a few generations (granddad and other relatives worked on the railroad), so it must be something in the blood.

This is the same kid who makes up all kinds of stories about past lives.  They get so elaborate it's creepy.

Which isn't true. A lot of t-girls don't have reassignment surgery. Which is good, because the state of the art remains, frankly, Cronenbergian.

Hey, for Ide, t-girls retain their most important sexual organ without any operations ... namely, their hair.  :P

I have higher standards of normative femininity for t-girls, though.  They have to be thinner and prettier than I would demand from an XX woman.  One prefers as few "tells" as possible, which includes breast implants; likewise, height becomes more of a factor than it would be with an XX woman.

Of course, the transwomen I've met in real life... not even close.  (I'm also not saying a high-end XY-girl would be particularly interested in me, since I'm not myself a high-end XY-boy, but fairness isn't built into the system. :) )

However, I blame non-passing transwomen primarily on late-life transitions--and you can define that as anything from "post-20" to simply "post-pubescent," since that's when the bone structure gets set.  It's why I'm such a big proponent of catching gender dysphoria before puberty, and using puberty-blocking medications, even though something like only 1 in 5 folks with pre-pubescent GID wind up identifying as transgendered in adulthood.  It's just such a huge risk to take with your kid's body and happiness that (in the absence of any serious side effects I'm not aware of  ) any parent should be vigilant and patient and wait till the final results are in.

Porn was a window into tolerance. :)

I've mentioned this like thirty times before, I thought.

Yes, but we were trying to repress it.
