Hurtful! :o

I didn't mean nothing by it. I'm not saying you couldn't make it, see, just that I don't think you'd like it.

Prostitution is one of those things where it doesn't make sense to keep it locked down as a criminal enterprise, but even if legal/regulated/taxed, all that good stuff, will still always be seen as a "low class" activity that often has soul-crushing effects on most of those involved.

High-end, glamorous escorts will be an exception, of course...but like very rich people in society, I think that will always be a tiny minority.

That's no bullshit.  They have some fucked up shit down under with more than two legs that can kill you quick.  It ain't all boxing kangaroos, man.

Speaking of which, I heard on the radio that the only mammal indigenous to New Zealand is the bat.

I read an article on internet prostution (might have been posted here) that said the ladies felt empowered and that it was easy money.

The same thing is said about pornography, and I don't doubt there are a number of women who feel that way, and make a good living.  I am just saying they are probably still far outnumbered by those who don't make very much, or fall into a spiral of exploitation, drug abuse, and overall crapiness.

For every Tera Patrick, there are probably dozens of Bang Bus one-and-goners.  :(

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Sure it can. Swedish solution, criminalise the clients :contract:

The probability of making the big time and how soul crushing the job is are two different things.

Drug dealers are bad and drug users are victims, yet....

Anyway, I wasn't kidding. Should be nationalized and used for the public good, since it obviously could be (jobs and providing a key mental health service to the underprivileged).
