I would be very surprised if the subs being moved (if, indeed, any subs were moved at all) were SSBNs.  There's simply no reason to do so; they can hit all their targets from within their normal patrol areas.

Moving SSNs, OTOH, might be to signal to the Russians that their own boomers are not safe at sea. I'm not sure how the US would signal that to the Russians, barring "one ping only."
