So when does CdM add himself to his list?

That's not Seedy. Tim took seedy.

Kaga, though I feel like my favorite is be unduly biased toward the number and type of aircraft carried.

No shit, you'd think they'd be all about the Akagi's courtesy funnel.

I probably know less about this stuff than anyone here, but I think the British carriers can be disqualified because they were effectively dysfunctional. They put so much armor on those things they could hardly hold any planes.

If it is a beauty contest between the Lexington and the Japanese, I think the Lexington holds its own, and if practical considerations come into play, it wins.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Lexington. Best name, best design, and fundamentally not infantilizable.

You obviously aren't paying attention to the competition, if you think Lex has a relatively ugly funnel:

Since seedy was a fan of the Atago, sharing a personal favorite picture seemed appropriate.

Besides the sideways funnel, my other favorite feature of those Japanese carriers is that ultra-short (and thus useless) medium flight deck lodged between the two main ones.

There was a five-minute period on the 4th of April 1928 when that middle flight deck was able to launch operational Japanese naval aircraft.

Voted Lexington. I like the design of US carriers and that one is a bit unique being an earlier one and built on a converted cruiser hull, if I remember that right.

I like exotic funnels.  Hell, that's one reason why I voted for Akagi.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.
