Conan? hmmm I'd prefer to see some newcomer, an unknown, in such an Iconic role... keeps the taint of Famousness off them.
:p

I'm gonna jinx it by proclaiming it can't be worse than the tv series with Ralph Möller.

(I did enjoy the cartoon series as a kid, though.)

I do look forward to Robert Rodriguez' Red Sonja, though.

 when is that coming?

According to IMDB it's still in pre-production, scheduled for 2010.

Yeah, just noticed, too. It says "Rodriguez presents", so presumably he's producing/endorsing it in some way?

There we go:

Jason Statham and Daniel Craig are awesome. Maybe Hollywood needs to import more British bad-assery.

Daniel Craig is good, but the entire metrosexual thing he's got going on kindof ruins it for me.

"Yeah, sure, I'd like to play an openly gay james bond" WTF!?

Hey Syt, since when did you start using katmai as an avatar?

What Slargos refers to as "Teh Golden Age" is to a time when the plausibility of an action movie was more dependent on the plausibility of the character played by the lead action star rather than the plausibility of the special effects. Conan/Rambo/Rocky/Die Hard had little special effects apart from explosions and stunt men.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

I quite like the Rock.
Name one good thing he's done.

The Rundown.
I've never even heard of that one.
Not too surprising though given his best known was the Scorpion King....

It was pretty good.  Basically, the Rock goes to South America for some reason with Stifler from American Pie, there are alot of explosions, and he gets to bang some hot chick at the end.

80s action film fans and connoisseurs should be quite hyped up to The Expendables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expendables_(2010_film)).

The film, directed and starring Stallone and set to open next year, is about a group of mercs in South America, fighting against a corrupt general turned dictator.

Just check the cast:

QuoteCast

    * Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross a.k.a. "The Schizo", a long-time Expendable and the leader of the team
    * Mickey Rourke as Tool, an arms dealer who helps the Expendables and is a former and one of the first expendables from Ross's old team
    * Jason Statham as Lee Christmas, a British American Expendable second in command
    * Jet Li as Kong Bao, a Chinese American Expendable who was a former mercenary in China
    * Dolph Lundgren as Gunnar Jensen, a German Expendable who gets fired from Ross' team and is eventually hired to take them out
    * Terry Crews as Hale Caeser, an Expendable and Kong Bao's best friend
    * Steve Austin as Dan Paine, a bodyguard for Monroe and a former Marine
    * Charisma Carpenter as Lacy, Lee Christmas's fiancee
    * Brittany Murphy as Amy, Tool's girlfriend and a singer
    * Eric Roberts as Monroe, a rogue C.I.A agent who is trying to prevent the Expendables from killing General Garza
    * Randy Couture as Toll Road, a long-time Expendable from Ross's old team with Tool and weapons expert
    * Arnold Schwarzenegger in a cameo role (Bar Patron)
    * David Zayas as General Garza, the Dictator
    * Danny Trejo as Emanuel, a South American contact who helps the Expendables.
    * Giselle Itié as Sandra, a native young woman
    * Gary Daniels as The Brit, a former Expendable who is General Garza's main henchman and wants to go to war against the Expendables
    * Amin Joseph as the leader of a group of Somali pirates that challenge the Expendables
    * The Nogueira Brothers as Garza's henchmen

I mean, wow. There's only Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris missing there. It has everything: Stallone, the Gobernator doing a cameo, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren (Brain ->  :w00t: ), Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Danny Trejo, and more 80s feel than a Flashdance/Karate Kid crossover.
