We've had female heads of state. Worked kinda meh.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

I don't think Kim Campbell really counts.

If they're counting Heads of State they might also be counting Adrienne Clarkson and Jean Sauve (though they technically aren't our Head of State).
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Powerless parliamentary presidents shouldn't count either.

Granted that more than a few of those are through family connections, but plenty were elected on their own merits.

Ok what I was specifically talking about is countries where women are doing pretty badly as a group, like in Pakistan, but have had a female head of state.  I just want to clarify before everybody brings up Sweden or something.

Actually Sweden has never had a female head of state or government yet. :p

Each of the coloured countries has had some sort of female leadership.

Post-modern Queens don't count.

That map doesn't include Monarchs.
The map colors in a country if it has had an "acting" female leader for as little as 2 days, such as Ecuador and Madagascar.
