This video practically renders the need for this thread obsolete; it is an excellent executive summary for those who haven't been living on the internet for the last decade.

The Gary the Cylon stuff is funny, for the first dozen eps or so (then starts to drag).  The fact that it uses the original BSG and Gary's boss is named "Neil" just adds to the fun.
