Arakawa Under the Bridge was absolutely great. Now debating whether to watch Kaiba or Eden of the East while waiting for Madoka to finish.

Spice and Wolf is pretty great. I only just got around to watching the second season a month or so ago.

But actually- if you like no giant robots or weirdness, there's oodles and oodles of that. There are many anime with less fantastical elements than spice & wolf.

But really, this isn't a very useful post without a picture. Come for the wolf girl, stay for the economics.

mildred pierce has been rather excellent--if not as multi-layered and important as, say, magical meow meow taruto

Yup.  The latest bit with the sexy Turk I found especially goofy.

A great review of one of the classics of our era.

The newest episode of Hanasaku Iroha is now up. I am jubilant and shall watch it directly.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Was really damn good. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think it was even better than I thought when I first watched it.

It kind of made me feel old though - maybe one of the first movies I've watched where it really struck me that it was made for a very different generation than my own, and yet is not a kids movie.

Face it, B: our generation movies were over after The Breakfast Club, with only a sudden death-hiccups with Clerks and Heathers.

It's my generation, though. I related to it and liked it while also feeling embarrassed because that was the case.

I had preconceived notions about the sort of people who liked the movie, but was forced to admit I was one of those people.

What about Fanboys?

Why?

Have you seen the movie?

I thought absent from whether it is any good or not, it is pretty interesting to see where media and culture are going. This kind of stuff is the future.

Frankly, I think it is pretty damn neat, even if I have some trouble relating to it.

Ottoman Turk and smooth talking lounge lizard are not concepts that go together well in my mind.
