I see one of my favourite books from my teen years, Childhood's End, by Arthur C. Clarke, is coming to TV in a 3 part special. Kind of excited except trailers make it look rather V-ish

Man from UNCLE. Decent harmless fluff fun, even if a bit too long. As a spy comedy, it has the misfortune of coming after Kingsman (a vastly superior film), but I always enjoy Ritchie's playful style.

Also, I want to marry non-robot Alicia Vikander.

I've only seen the last 20 minutes or so of Kingsman and I thought mowing down the stormtroopers with a Glock was stupidly overdone.

Well, I loved Kingsman myself, but putting that aside, I don't think there's objectively any metric in which UNCLE would be superior - except hotness of the female lead and quality of impersonation of accents/speech impediments.

Actually all Vikander's character does in that movie is wear cute dresses. It's so blatant she's just there to look hot that I was a bit embarrassed of ogling her all movie long.

I really need Ide back; he was an effective wingman because he drew all the fire when I defended some of my pet movie causes which he happened to share (he loved Kingsman too).
