Did the rest of you folks not watch Cloud Atlas all the way through to the end, or something?
I did, but I am  about your take on it...
It seemed to trace a bleak portrayal of the future, namely that our problems of class struggle are a constant, only the definition of class will change?
At the very, very end, it's revealed that the framing sequence--Zachry at the fire--takes place not on the doomed Earth but on an offworld colony, meaning that the space people Meronym came to Big Isle to call in the first place really did eventually show up and rescue the inhabitants of the Earth.
I don't know if the book ends that way or not, but I'd say the film definitely has
an overall happy ending.
Kinemalogue

I haven't seen those movies, but I find Ide's continued shunning of John Wick to be alarming.

I do too. :(  It's not intentional shunning.

I put on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken playlist on Youtube.  They have the SAME MOTHERFUCKING COMMERCIAL. Over and over and over and over and over and over again.
PDH!

Any of you watch Better Call Saul last night? If so, what did you think?

It was a lot darker than I thought it would be, in tone.

Agree.  They definitely didn't start strong with Saul's dark, but amusingly obnoxious humor.  It was mostly just dark.

But I know one shouldn't expect too much from a pilot, especially a spin-off.
The Cinnabon start was a nice touch, though.
I also like the part where
He gave his big defence speech - and the prosecutor's rebuttal was totally silent: to play the video of the three accused having sex with a severed head ... and all he got for this was $700.

Real lawyers would probably say that case should have never made it to trial.  :P
Jupiter Ascending (2015).  Good or bad, I knew it would be weird.  What I couldn't have known was that the Wachowskis' weird could be so boring.  C

Haven't read your review yet, but I thought it was terrible.  The off-Earth sequences looked like a bad attempt to channel David Lynch.

I wouldn't call Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles a decline from The Producers, brilliant as it may be.

I think they're very close in quality, but I'd peg The Producers as a hair better.  And Young Frankenstein as a hair better than Blazing Saddles.  Probably a minority opinion in both cases, I'll admit.

honestly, I can not recall that at all.  I'll have to rewatch the movie, if I ever get rid of my headaches.

Walking dead - meh
it has got me thinking; is it good to be a black guy in a non Romero zombieverse? They certainly do always seem to die on walking dead (because a new black guy is coming along?) buttttt..... Considering they're a minority anyway.... And are disproportionality from urban areas.... They do seem to punch above their weight for surviving until after the apocalypse, even if they do then die

That was a good death episode, a good send off and a good conclusion to his storyline. Much better than the death that Team T-dawg got. Cheers for Tyrese

they just keep replacing the blacks
The strange clue/teaser about the episode was
what the hell is up with the quadriplegic zombie collection.  The speculation I've seen is a reference to another weirdo group from the graphic novel (the Whisperers)...but that one is not supposed to show up until after they've reached Alexandria.

The show introduced(clued in really) the whisperers before they showed up in comics, anyway.
I saw some of it. I think I'll give it a chance. From what I saw it looks like he's starting out as a scamming, scheming lawyer creating scams for money. A far cry from where he was in Breaking Bad as an somewhat well heeled crooked lawyer and money launderer.
