Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens this weekend.  The forest scenes were shot in the woods about 5 minutes walk from my house.  I will be interested to see if I can recoganize any of it.

"Tyrant" seems okay, albeit with a typical Israeli bent.

What is Israeli about the bent?
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

Mine your Business (1927)

Fred Parker plays a white man who puts on blackface and pretends to be a black man in order to get a high paying job as a shoe shine boy ().  He jives and shucks with customers for a bit.  He returns a wallet a customer left behind.  It turns out the customer is a prospector and invites Fred to go out west and mine with him.  He does, still in blackface (), and they strike gold.  Hilarity ensues as claim jumpers try to capture Fred before he can go to town.

The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.

From a modern point of view this film is strange.  There are only a couple jokes in the shoeshine bit that are derived from racial stereotypes.  Most of the films comedy is slapstick in chase and fighting scenes.  For the bulk of the film there's no reason for Fred to be in blackface or for his title cards to be in an Amos and Andy style patter.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

You're kidding, right? Many modern movies could be at least partially saved by doing this.

Dolemite (1975)

Two years ago some no-talent, rat soup eating mother fuckers framed Rudy Ray Moore.  The warden lays down some honkey jive on Rudy and sends him back on the street to catch those no business having mother fuckers.  He's picked up by his fly kung fu  warrior bitches and soon he's back out pimpin' ho's and clockin' the grip like his name was... oh  :Embarrass:.  In any event those born insecure, junkyard mother fuckers are closing in on Dolemite; but he's soon putting his hush puppies up those mother fuckers ass.  Can you dig it?

I once saw Rudy Ray Moore perform at one of the local clubs in Detroit.  They first showed "Avenging Disco Godfather" (1979) and then Rudy came on and delivered his rhymes.  He kept urging women to sell their pussy.  One guy in the audience tried to heckle and Dolemite simply annihilated the guy.  Near the end he was about to go into his dirty ABC's.  He came up to my brother:

Rudy Ray Moore:  A is for...
Savonarola's Brother:  Ass
Rudy Ray Moore:     What?
Savonarola's Brother:  Ass, ass munch, ass fuck
Rudy Ray Moore: Shit, honkey, I thought you were going to say "Apple."

He gave my brother a pin that read "Eat out more often" (the name of his first album.)

A great victory for the Caucasian race.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
