Huston directed Lion of the Desert, though.

edit: nope, I was wrong.  D'oh, insha'allah.

Watched Take Shelter last night. Superb. Masterful. Engrossing. Exhausting.

Five doomsday preppers out of five.

:).  Glad to hear someone else has seen this.  Michael Shannon is amazing.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

I've been wanting to watch Take Shelter for a while, just haven't found the time.  Thanks for reminding me of it. :)

Wolf of Wall Street. Overlong and completely unoriginal. I'm growing weary of biopic structure.

I went into season two wondering which villain plot would fail
Brother Blood
in Starling or
Dr Ivo
on Lian Yu, and man did the mess with my expectations there. I really appreciate how they are not putting the "hero" in positions where he is not struggling to do the right thing, but rather having to choose between two wrongs and having to live with it afterwards.

BTW, Moira Queen and John Diggle now exist in the comics. Felicity
Raymond
neé Smoak already has been in Firestorm and Green Lantern/Power Girl (in the 80s and 90s).

I remember the original Felicity Smoak character, doesn't seem to have much in common with Arrow's but they tweak the characters they take from comics a lot, anyway. In the show she's your run-of-the-mill walking Deus ex Machina IT expert (at least as of season 1), but the actress really infuses her with charm. Hot ass too.

My favorite character (so far) is Slade Wilson, and I'm glad to hear he's a major character in season 2. Looking really forward to it.

He dies in season 2!
One does not simply kill Slade Wilson.  It might not be a bad idea to keep Red Ryder BB Guns out of his reach though. :pirate

YES, and if would be a miracle if he came back to life.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

Godzilla   :hmm:

It did need a bit more focus on the big G, but I liked it.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Blade Runner 2. Oh :weep:

What a strange thing to put out a public press release asking an actor to sign for your movie... Are they trying to guilt-trip Ford? He hated doing Blade Runner IIRC.
