You know, Star Wars fans should heed Bobcat Goldthwait's advice and get laid.

Authors and editors do make small changes and corrections in their books when they reedit them. Only the anti-Lucas dweebs have nerd fits when Lucas does the same, with his own creation I might add.

I think it is okay to knock on someone when they take something that you like and then make it shitty.

I don't know.  If somebody edited something I liked and made it shittier, I'd be annoyed.

Mind you, I have the theatrical releases of the original trilogy on DVD, so who gives a fuck what Lucas does going forward?  He can use CGI to turn Vader's armour pink or insert a Muppet song-and-dance routine into the duel in Empire Strikes Back and I'd never know.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Fuck the extended universe.
Most of the books are very good.
And don't tell me you never enjoyed a Star Wars game? ;)

I've enjoyed many a Star Wars game.

It's just that I couldn't give a crap about consistency with the dozens of shitty paperbacks that have been published in the last 20 years.

Star Wars = the 6 movies.

As I said, most of the books are good, and they make for a fine reading.  I've read most of the books coming after the series + a few others in between the movies.
You should try them.  There's no Jar Jar or cute teddy bears though ;)

Karen Traviss' books were great.  Too bad they ret-conned them all away.  Anything by Zahn makes me want to kill things.  I loved the Heir to the Empire books when I was a kid and they first came out.  That was before I realized they were more or less utter shit and it was simply the total lack of competition to them in terms of Star Wars books that made them "good".  I haven't read much of the "well past Endor" series like the Vong invasion and what not.  Just seems boring and non-Star Warsy to me from what I've heard.

In terms of TV/Movie stuff, I've heard great stuff about the Clone Wars series that is on now.  I watched the movie and the first season, and it showed promise.  The Gendy Tarkowski (Sp?) series was pretty good too that aired prior to Episode III.

I saw The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec the other day - very silly but fun. Sort of like Tintin, if Tintin was a hott straight Parisian woman circa 1910 rather than a gay Belgian boy circa 1935.  :D

That's worse than Starbuck changing sex.

Starbuck? Captain Ahab would have been pretty surprised if he changed sex ...  :D

Anyway, Tintin's relationship with an abusive, alcoholic wealthy older man was a bad example for the kids.  ;)

The Jedi Academy Trilogy was very good.  The book I, Jedi, was excellent, taking place in between the other books of the Academy trilogy.
The Vong invasion was... boring by moments.
There is a duology by Zahn that takes place before the Vong series, dealing with the supposed return of Thrawn and they are two good books.
Anything Zahn makes is usually good ;)

The latest series of books, Fate of the Jedi, I like pretty much.

So you would maintain that none of the hundreds of Star Wars novels contain ewoks, gungans, or other such cutesie stuff? :yeahright:
