To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Saw Klute the other day, the 1971 Jane Fonda/Donald Sutherland movie about a hooker being stalked. It was alright, but boy movies in the day just had such a slow pace to them. Although Fonda was hot in those tight sweaters and no bra days. And you gotta love a movie with such phrases as "What's your bag?". :D I guess "bag" was short for "baggage", so "What's your baggage?" meaning what's your problem? and "you're such a square."

I love late 60s-early to mid-70s films;  they really show how gritty cities really were and, of course, the cars.

When I was a kid in the 80s, a lot of the movies and series on TV were 70s re-runs (60s/70s series were a mainstay of the first commercial mainstream TV stations well into the 90s, because they were cheap - that's how my generation got to know Trapper John, M.D, CHIPS, Dragnet, and many others). I found especially dramas and thrillers set in decaying American cities to be a dreary affair. These days I relish it.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Loopers ok if you ignore that the time travel laws they use make no sense

that's why it's Science Fiction and not Science Reality.  :bleeding:

Personally, I thought the most realistic possibility was the fact all the cars had ad hoc solar panels and conduits to the gas tanks.   seemed plausible

Saw Dredd.  Nice alternative to the original Stallone Judge Comic Book.  Gritty.  Darker.  Different.

Little blonde Judge was hot.  Really liked that multipurpose weapon, too.

Admiral Yi

Saw about half of Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.

How did they turn this into a franchise?  They're supposed to be stoned he whole time and the Korean guy looks like he's going to an AA meeting.

Razgovory

Pot heads are easy to entertain.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Civis Romanus Sum<br /><br />"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." Jack Layton 1950-2011

Grey Fox

Jack Reacher, it was an entertaining movie. Rosemund Pike in her 30s, after a pregnancy, has gotten really hot.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

Darth Wagtaros

Argo. Good movie.

Damn. Another Brady Bunch movie. Looks like shit.
PDH!

Just picked up the blue ray of this on the way into work.  :)

"there's a long tradition of insulting people we disagree with here, and I'll be damned if I listen to your entreaties otherwise."-OVB

"Obviously not a Berkut-commanded armored column.  They're not all brewing."- CdM

"We've reached one of our phase lines after the firefight and it smells bad—meaning it's a little bit suspicious... Could be an amb—".

Admiral Yi

Watched most of a Chink flick last night about college students plotting to assassinate a collaborator with the Japanese. "Lust, Love" or something like that.

Out of all Asian people, I think the Chinese have the best taste in female movie stars.

Sure, if you like tall, leggy, attractive blondes.
What I speak out of my mouth is the truth.  It burns like fire.
