Additional thought - Jod vs Ezra.

So we hear Jod's backstory (or at least what's he's telling us - he's an incredibly unreliable narrator, I guess).

And it seems interesting how similar his and Ezra's story's sound, except one broke bad, and the other hdidn't.

Both urchins, surviving on guile.

Both meeting a runaway Jedi.

Both force sensitive and getting some training.

Both making up all kinds of different names for themselves.

Except Jod was unlucky and his Jedi "guardian" was killed in front of his eyes, while in Ezra's case ... erm ... ok, one more thing they have in common.

However, Ezra had a whole newfound family as support while Jod, I assume didn't, and he took the wrong lessons.

Or maybe I over-analyze, but I think it's fascinating to see how on the surface they had very similar paths, up to a certain point, and then went down very different paths.

Btw, something I didn't see commented on - in Ep. 3 Jod activates an old battle droid whose first line is "Did we win?" The same thing KB says when she wakes up at the end of Ep. 8. Felt a bit ... disturbing to have this callback to a line a droid asked, considering she's apparently quite augmented herself.

Back to what is important, that trailer is amazing.  Can't wait for it.

Just wondering how the reception among more, uhm, conservative viewers will be considering I see people posting Nemik's quote on tyranny a lot since Jan 20th.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that. And know this: the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empire's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege. Remember this. Try.

Yes. I've not read his book but it was really interesting to hear how he approached it and shaped it as a historian.

I also liked when he noted it was his only book with his title Dr as that's something publisher pushed for to make it seem more authoritative. :F
