Never heard of that one.
But never heard of it being used for boiled eggs either.

I had never heard of vinegar for hard boiled eggs either. But when I talked to people at work, they said that you can use vinegar for hard boiled eggs, so I guess it is a thing.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Yeah, if you add some vinegar to the water when you hard boil eggs it makes it easier to get the shells off. I always do that.

I hard boil eggs a lot, but have never used vinegar.  Though google implies it is a fairly common thing.

But I also have found that steaming eggs to hard boil them works better than dunking them directly in the water. For me at least.

And it is good for prostitutes to get their protein.  :)  :P

I use a splash of vinegar in the water when making hard boiled eggs. Apparently, it keeps them from breaking/leaking out.

I don't think it works but it's tradition.

You're supposed to use a lot more than a splash, and it is supposed to make the eggs easier to peel.
