It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Yay, I was able to buy tickets on ticketmaster. Always a game at noon on Friday if you'll be able to get through before they get all bought up and then are available for 3 times the price on stubhub...:D <_<

Back to work on Monday. :)

You know, it is nice to see someone happy about that.

Me, I've been working so many years without a substantial break, I don't even remember what it was like to not be working all the time.  :(

When I dare take a week off, it's like a big deal that I have to prepare for months in advance, and even so there's always some big issue about it, and someone NEEDS to talk to me during it. I'm just bloody tired - bone tired.

Are you going to be able to retire early with all the scratch you're making, at least?

Possibly - but not, alas, tomorrow.  :D

It's a hard knock life, I guess.

But it does underline the point: even "good" lawyer jobs are terrible.

Meh. It's any professional-style job, really, that has this level of responsibility, and pay.

I don't really know anyone who gets paid this sort of cash who isn't worked the same way.  I don't usually complain about it, I'm just feeling pissy and tired.  :Embarrass:

Depends on your personality.

I have occasionally been tempted by Wall Street, where I probably have a reasonable shot of getting a job that pays two to three times what I make now.  I know I would be absolutely miserable, though, as would my wife.  So much so that it would not even be worth a two to three year stint just to bank some scratch for the future.
