I thought Federal pay was at least decent.

It is.  But I'm not a Federal employee.

After all, the 2nd Amendment trumps officer safety.

Yep, just like the rest of the Bill of Rights.

Shove it up your gunshow loophole, Dershowitz.

Well, he does have a point - sort of.

"Officer safety" does not trump basic human rights.

Now, the idea that the second was ever intended to include an individual right to carry weapons is pretty much patently and obviously bullshit, so his point is based on a rather well executed lie, but still.

You don't get the first part without the second.

My reference wasn't for any overarching constitutional navel-gazing but, as I pointed out in my post, specifically addressed--

QuoteNow, if law enforcement had the ability to do an immediate check and find out he purchased multiple handguns in a short time frame prior to arriving for the welfare check, perhaps that would've added a certain awareness.  But the NRA would want you to believe otherwise.  After all, the 2nd Amendment trumps officer safety.

--after all, an officer can find out from his car how many motor vehicles are registered in your name, how many homes, how many boat trailers and and even how much child support you owe...but not how many firearms--you know, the actual devices specifically designed to kill people.  The NRA's fight against open registration is not a fight over a basic human right.

That is bullshit, and that's when I mean.  But sbr was being a contraryian douchebag with his answer, as is his wont.

What?

LOL yeah sure it does.  The only reason the 2nd does is because it has a powerful corporate lobby behind it.
