Maybe after 23 seasons it has run its course.

To their credit the actors did submit a decent counter offer, a pay cut (less than what Fox wanted) and a take on the back end (which is where the lucrative money is). Fox balked.

finally watched Green Lantern. pretty crappy mostly. though the CGI wasn't quite as over the top as Thor. a few moments here and there that I liked... Sinsestro was a decent Sinestro, nice hints of the arch enemy to come. Too many threads in this story though. Mostly kind of flat. But I didn't hate it. just kind of depressed that it was so blah. Parallax is a crappy villain.

Most of the critics seem to agree that it had run its course a decade or more ago.  Actually, it's not just critics--most people seem to agree that it's not as good as it used to be--but people still watch it, and ratings count a lot more than reviews to the network.

EDIT:  And apparantly, the actors and Fox reached an agreement and the show will be back for 2 more years.

Gosh, I've not watched the Simpsons for eons. It really has completely lost it, for the past few years it has just been staggering along from special guest appearance to special guest appearance.

Lately i've been making good progress in the hyperbolic time chamber drastically increasing my power level- so far this week I have finished 19 episodes of animu, and the last two weeks had 51 total completions. I am well on my way to attaining the emperor's permission to reincarnate as a nihonjin in the next life.

Best gem since the school year started has been, by far, Kino no Tabi.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

Tonitrus

Ken Burn's series on Prohibition - Not bad

Terra Nova premiere and recent episode - Not too deep, but entertaining.  Almost 20 years later and Jurassic Park's dinosaurs still look better.

Josephus

Ides of March.

Had a lot less to do with ancient Rome than I wished. Also not as taught as I taut it might be.
Good acting. Marissa Tormei has gotten older since I last saw her in My Cousin Vinnie. I guess so have I. She's kinda sexy in a "woman my age" sorta way. And...am I rambling now? Stop me if I am.

Hell, I thought the show jumped the shark back in season 8 when we found out Skinner wasn't actually Skinner.  The show peaked in season 5.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

She's even more sexy in a "woman my age wearing a gstring and nothing else" kind of way in The Wrestler.

Well, I assume.  Haven't seen your flick.

How old are you Yi?

Habbaku

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

I pegged Yi as being around Seedy's age.  But then, I put Cal, Yi and Seedy all in the same age group.  I think Cal is a bit younger then Seedy.
