Most of them have sizes and densities more comparable to counties.

It's "interesting" (= not surprising) how Vance, Miller etc decry the SCOTUS birthright citizenship decision and how it "creates" loopholes incl. Vance hinting that the senate races this year are important should any of the five judges upholding it leave court.

FWIW I actually quite liked Gorsuch's line - it doesn't cover temporary visitors like tourists etc but absolutely covers, say, illegal migrants. But tailor made to annoy many people.

I know this is how America politics works for the last 5-60 years but it is insane this is all in the courts at all. If you want to get rid of it make and win the argument to change the constitution. Change the words don't rely on politically motivated legal sophistry to change the reading of them.

I think we've moved nowadays towards the latter because we've come to view the former as impossible to achieve.

Ironically what I thought the Conservatives stood for. Don't legislate from the bench! But they do not even seem to be pretending to change the Constitution or change the law.
