Duque de Bragança

Meanwhile in Bragança, 20 °C.
Max temperature will be 24 ° C, in a couple of hours.  :hmm:
And i'm going to Portugal early next week. Missed a great opportunity to travel at the right time, it seems.

I am not sure it was a fluke, but I found the heat in Lisbon very bearable last summer, despite it reaching 30 degrees.

It might reach 30 in southern Norway this weekend/early next week. That is not bearable.

Well, looks like the heat will break on Wednesday. For the moment at least. Summer's barely started.

30 degrees during the day in Lisbon is fine, city is designed for it.
Next week should have temperatures over 30 degrees, however.

11pm, still 30°C here.

Yeah, 1 hour ago or now it is not 30C.

That said, relief is in sight:

Meanwhile, the Vienna subreddit is full of complaints about narcs who report on people who install an A/C "illegally" (usually means the outside unit is at least 1 mm over the outer facade and therefore "in the public space" and requiring a permit) or registering noise complaints (a lot of people are now buying mobile split A/Cs, but the outside units tend to exceed noise regulations for residential areas in Vienna).

First: fuck those assholes.
Second: Vienna really needs to do more for mitigating heat and/or make it easier to set up A/Cs. If you rent you can not install a fixed A/C without landlord approval. Landlords need approval from everyone else in the building before installing one. And Vienna's old buildings often have old box windows that are hard to run a mobile A/C through while keeping heat out unless you start some arts/crafts projects:

The (sort of) reverse is happening over here. Toronto passed a bylaw that landlords can't stop renters from having AC units in apartments anymore.

I am getting closer to getting an a/c (despite the drama of my window type) as next week is no longer expected to be in the low 20s and the weather channel's longer forecast has next weekend at 30/31. -_-
