When did derangement become the rights favourite word?

I am not sure, but as a youth and, well, member of socialist organisations, I was repeatedly told I was deranged for opposing this or that. And, of course, commie.

There is a basic human need to explain behaviour that seems at odds with what we are used to with a sickness of mind. Derangement. Like when a woman 50 years ago claimed to be a full person, she was hysterical, right?

I try to avoid such tropes. But I will say this, I do not think POTUS has a full set of marbles. Bibi, maybe, but his stakes are so high, he has to win.

I think that's all accurate but I think you are over complicating it.  For a number of years psychiatrist have been diagnosing Trump's mental frailties.  And so the Trump is simply say everybody else is suffering from a mental frailty.

Jon Stewart had a great line Monday re: Trump's mental condition. He noted that Trump bragged repeatedly that he was the only President ever to take the cognitive abilities test and had passed with perfect scores each time. Stewart observed that Trump was, indeed, been the only President ever to have been asked to take the cognitive abilities test and asked "why do you think that this is so, Mr President?"

Remember when the GOP held hearing after hearing about "weaponization of justice" against Merrick Freaking Garland of all people?  Against an administration that prosecuted the President's own son, that convicted the senior Democratic Senator from New Jersey.

Where are those guys now that the President is openly and publicly using DOJ to pursue personal vendettas?  Crickets.

With MAGA every accusation is a confession.

I like to take a more nuanced view.

Sometimes the accusation is a "hey I feel this is unfair to me because I'm a whiny crybaby" quickly followed by a "we should totally go all in on doing this ourselves."
