The Trump insider traders may have gotten burned this time.  If they were counting on this round of sabre rattling to create a profitable futures play, the Iranians countered by making a further peace proposal, which actually decreased the price of oil.


For the Iranians, the best strategy is to decrease the amount of profit the Trumpists can squeeze out of this conflict.

I don't think so. I think the navy is probably going to withdraw by Monday. Congress might finally be growing a backbone, and insisting on the president, obtaining congressional approval now that the war has reached the point where such approval is necessary.  At least in the before times when laws in the United States meant something.

The constitutionality of a provision should not depend on whether the regime currently in power concedes it is constrained.  At least that used to be what the rule of law meant.
